On April 23, with the theme of "Voyaging into Space, Pursuing Dreams", CASIC held a flag-raising ceremony at its headquarters to celebrate the sixth "Space Day of China". Liu Shiquan, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, Chen Guoying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, and senior managers of CASIC and all staff of the headquarters attended the flag-raising ceremony.
At the flag-raising ceremony, Liu Shiquan firstly expressed his heartfelt thanks and greetings to the cadres and workers working in frontlines like scientific research and production, operation and management and service support on behalf of the Party Leadership Group of CASIC. He revisited the glorious history of the 65-year development of the aerospace industry and reviewed the excellent achievements in CASIC's innovative development since the 18th National Party Congress under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.
Liu Shiquan pointed out that CASIC is the main force in the construction of space power, the cornerstone of national defense and military modernization, and the backbone of national strategic science and technology force. All cadres and workers shall stay true to the original mission, learn from CPC history to gain strong spiritual support; bear "top priorities" in mind, plan coordinated domestic and international development while balancing between development and security; focus on the main responsibility to fulfill its primary responsibility of strengthening the military, fully implement new development concept in the new development stage to make greater achievement in service and integration with new development pattern; accelerate the promotion of science and technology self-reliance and self-improvement, strengthen the national strategic science and technology power, to support the construction of modern industrial system. He called on all cadres and workers to set on the new journey of centenary goals, write a new chapter of the aerospace industry, fully realize the objectives and tasks set by the No. 1 Party Leadership Group's Document and the Work Conference at the beginning of the year, accelerate the construction of a world-class aerospace defense group company, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China with excellent results.
When presiding over the flag-raising ceremony, Chen Guoying pointed out that all cadres and workers should enhance the "Four Awarenesses" (awareness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment), maintain "Four Matters of Confidence" (confidence in its culture, confidence in the socialist path, theory and system), and "Two Upholds" (upholding General Secretary Xi Jinping’s core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and upholding the Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership), remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind, be determined to forge ahead, work hard according to the "three services" principle (serve center works, serve the party members, and serve the staff and workers) and focus on the primary responsibility of strengthening the military, and make every effort to complete the major mission tasks entrusted by the Party and the people, to promote the construction of world-class aerospace defense power, and make new and greater contributions to the realization of the Dream of Strong Military, the Space Dream and China Dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Units under CASIC in Beijing, Wuhan, Nanjing, Changsha, Chengdu, Zhengzhou and other places also held flag-raising activities to celebrate "Space Day of China".
